Successful Nordes 2015 in June – Design Ecologies,

challenging anthropocentrism in the design of sustainable futures.
Design hinges a natural-artificial continuum through humans’ natural capacity to produce what we call ‘the artificial’. At a time when human activity is threatening biodiversity and causing severe climate change, it becomes obvious that natural and artificial systems can no longer be conceived in isolation but only in relation to each other - or indeed as one. The 6th Nordic Design Research Conference, 7–10 June 2015 took place at Konstfack University College of Arts, Crafts and Design in Stockholm. Read more about the conference here.

Designfakulteten, The Swedish Faculty for Design Research and Research Education, is a member and vital part of Nordes – Nordic Design Research – an open network of people interested in design research. Nordes started with the first Nordic Design Research Conference in Copenhagen 2005. In addition to organising the bi-annual Nordes conferences and Summer schools Nordes promotes the publication and dissemination of design research through the Nordes Digital Archive.

The Nordes board is responsible for the program of the upcoming conference and also for all activities between conferences. The board consists of people from all Nordic countries, elected at each Nordes conference.
