Internat 23, Utö

Navigating the Archipelago of Design Research

May 8-9, 2012

The meeting will first and foremost focus on ongoing PhD projects within D! During the meeting, we will try to reach a common understanding of the diverse field of the design research conducted in Sweden/Scandinavia today, and the funding possibilities that exist. An central aspect will be that of ”career planning” – an important part of every PhD project. Where am I heading and how do I conceive of my future role in design practice and/or research?

As a preparation, we will read some policy documents and some recent examples of calls for funding, both of which are types of texts that increasingly govern the development of design practice and research.
